Emboss Blue Sapphire Ring

Material : Palladium Silver
Stone: Blue Sapphire
Design: Emboss Ring
Finishing: Satin Finish
Font : Vivaldi

This is her simple and clear design description: " My idea rings are comfort fit with round inner design, around 1.5mm thick, 5-6 mm width with gradually narrower and a bit thinner at the bottom, emboss our respective name with a blue sapphire (S@Wai;  P@Yee; @= blue sapphire). I personally prefer "Vivaldi" font."

Who says you need to sketch like an artist to design? (Please eat your words :P)

She likes to make beautiful things especially with little hands skills. She created real cute socks toys and now desired to have something unique for her marriage. She is from Perak and our discussions has to make via email. Everything was clear but the ring sizes.(Yeah! I must face this and find a total solution then.)  Finally we have to meet to reconfirm on their rings sizes, that was the time when the groom was back from overseas.

This design is inspired by the Princess Ring, With her very own though on the design and the wise choice on the font, it create another unique design. The blue sapphire is from her own collection. The fine matte satin finishing match with the blue reflection of the sapphire creates a splendid ring design.

There were some customers asking me not to post their rings to the this blog. I will agree when the design is an origin idea. That means the design do not inspired/copy from others. I have got a project with design originality. She had provide a rough sketch of the design and verbal descriptions on the details. That very unique ring is for a sister's wedding gift. We spent 6 months from sketch to CAD then physical ring and the final finishing. The process was rewarding one, cause I have experience the effectiveness of communication to convert the idea from illusion to realistic. I did not have the chance to take a picture of the ring, and I am regret now cause I MISS IT :(. (Just like after delivery and did't see the baby since then, sign!) For her ring, I will not post the design unless she agrees.

For this project, I will say "Sharing Is Caring" (a phrase I have learn from another client). The posting of a new custom made design inspired other to create and this will blossom the design pool.

Inspired By Romeo & Juliet

Material:
Palladium Silver
Finishing:
Mirror finishing on ring band ,
diamond burr (150 grit) on the A + A surface,
blackening silver
Design Concept:
Romeo and Juliet
Fonts:

She wants this ring to be a birthday gift to her friend. (Her birthday is in August) She pick the Monumental Gothic fonts cause she likes it has capital and small letter "a" pattern in it. However, the original font in very intricate and some fine lines has to be remove during production.

The bottom message says: I love thee.  The whole design idea is Vintage - so the antic kind of look must be emphasized.

Delivery was in 1 U Golden Screen cinema. At first, she got question on the blackening part cause the lighting in the are give the ring a dull effect - the blackening part did look black but grayish. I was quite worry also until I receive a thanks you text from her. Yeah! Both of like the ring finally.

Next time, I will try to deliver under sunlight or white-light :)

Her very precious - Claddagh Celtic Ring

Today,  I sms her the first thing in the morning to check on whether she is find with Palladium silver. The answer is wonderful - so from  now onwards she can have more option of jewelry design with affordable price. No  more strictly 916 gold jewelry :O

The first email was sent during Chinese New year, so it is about 4 months plus gathering total of 4o over ding-dong mails. She is a real busy OL.

I like her character, a very passionate young lady with very great interest in Claddagh Celtic ring. She shared her experience with us on getting the similar ring via internet, but the ring design was different. It came without the weaving part, only hands holding heart. That wasn't a good experience, cause the weaving trully enhance the beauty of the whole Claddagh design. Something really missing here....

At first she wasn't very confident on the material -Palladium Silver, cause her skin is ultra sensitive. I can say a "Fleshy Low Quality Metal Detection Machine". Her sensitivity occur even within a few hours of carrying the jewelry.

All we can promise is to replace her with a new ring with 916 gold without charging workmanship. Anyway, this project provide a positive result on "Sensitive Resistant". However, need longer time to reconfirm if she is really ok with palladium silver.

Sanskrit Wedding Bands

Their Chinese names...

Date to be remember always...

They are sporty couple. The bride got tiny figure but like to challenge big "thing" - like mountain. The groom is tall but like to play with small "thing" such as soccer ball.

The Edwardian font was chosen by him and she decides on this beautiful message. For his ring, it says: "Samana hrdaya nivah"  means - let our heart be inseparable. For her ring: " Samanama astu vomano", means - let our mind be one.

18K White Gold Ambigram Wedding Rings

This is the project that make me decide to improve more on communication part. The couple came all the way from Penang with their very unique Ambigram ring design (two names in a single pattern- in which each name can be read in the other way round.) . The groom did the clip-art. Without any experience in computer graphic and using the most primitive software i.e. Paint - I admire his spirit of giving the best to his bride.  I really like the whole idea of the rings, the repeating mirror pattern of the flora create a heart shape design. Before meeting,  we discuss everything via Facebook and email. The design was confirm at the first place and quote was based on that.

However, I had present a few artworks but didn't come into agreement. Then finally they have decided on another flora pattern which is more simple and elegant one. To be frank, the jobs involved is many times extra then what I have charge. That's why, the thing I have learnt from this project is to make a very clear cut on the charges and works that I am going to involve.

So to materialist your creativity, the design is firm and final - design, mold and workmanship cost is from RM 150 to RM 2000. For each minor design changes for the art work presentation - RM 50 onwards.

To create personalized jewelry design (from scratch) - Conceptual design RM 1800 onwards for simple design. And RM 3500 onwards for complicated design. I will present three different designs for clients to pick one. The final design can be amend until satisfaction.  The charges is to cover the cost of time and thinking involve.

This is the first and the last time Chin is going to cast 18K white gold. He tried three times, until the casting turn perfect. We have deep consideration on the material, and decide to replace it with Palladium silver. In fact, Palladium silver has the similar reflection of 18K white gold but save the plating process and also the cost is 10 times less.

15/10/2014 Update: We accept 18K white gold assignment now, all the problems is solved :) And there are more option for this material i.e.: 18K Rose Gold and 18K Yellow Gold
